Donald Gray Dunnigan

Dunnigan Jonesville - Donald Gray Dunnigan, 72, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012. He was born June 19, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Lee Dunnigan and Mildred Lewellen Meadows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Graham; grandson, Anson Morrison; granddaughter, Carlee Isom. Surviving are his wife, Vickie Shoaf Dunnigan; sons, Steve Dunnigan, Chris Dunnigan and wife Laurie, and David Dunnigan; daughters, Donna Jenkins and husband Kevin, Vickie Isom, and Jennifer Campbell and husband James; step-children, Jennifer Harris and husband Darren and Bethany Settle and husband Daniel; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; siblings, Bob Dunnigan and wife Barbara, Dianne Gant and husband Kaline, Margaret Babson and husband Wardie; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Elkin by Dr. Danny Dodds and Rev. Randy Johnson. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with full Military Honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the staff of 7800 hall at Duke University Hospital for all the love and care shown to Don during his transplant journey.
