Rex Warren Hinshaw

East Bend Mr. Rex Warren Hinshaw, 72, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Hinshaw was born July 31, 1939 in Yadkin County to Oscar and Florence Hobson Hinshaw. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of East Bend Friends Meeting. Throughout his life, Mr. Hinshaw was a farmer and construction worker. He also worked for Stroh's Brewery for 28 years before retiring. One of his life's passions was collecting antiques. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hinshaw was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Frankie Hennings Hinshaw; two sisters, Ruby Nell Benton and Joyce Jester; and two brothers, Pete Hinshaw and Steve Hinshaw. He is survived by a son, Jeff (Angie) Hinshaw; three grandchildren, Bryson, Ben, and Casey Hinshaw; three brothers, Bob (Clara) Hinshaw, Bruce (Pat) Hinshaw, and Gary (Belva) Hinshaw; two sisters, Wanda (Dwight) Cass and Bet (Glenn) Trivette; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lydia Logan. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 22, 2012 at2:00 at Gentry Family Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Bobby Choplin and Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at East Bend Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Gentry Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and to Dr. Chris Thomas for all the love, care, and support shown to them and Mr. Hinshaw during this difficult time. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hinshaw family.
