To Visit Guestbook...Click Here - Mrs. Doris Anna Renegar Reavis, 87, of Lone Hickory Road passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at her home. She was born October 27, 1924 in the Lone Hickory Community of Yadkin County to the late Elgy and Cleo Cozart Renegar. Mrs. Reavis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law and homemaker to her family. She was a faithful member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church where she served the church as a Sunday School Teacher for several years, was treasurer, and President of the W.M.U. Mrs. Reavis was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, Yadkin Senior Chorus, Yadkin V.F.W. Post Ladies Auxillary, North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation District Auxillary, and volunteered with Yadkin Christian Ministries. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James S. "Jim" Reavis, her daughter, Patricia "Pat" R. Gentry, and her brothers and sisters, Marie (Reuben) Dickerson, Lowell O. (Edith) Renegar, Lottie (Wade) Groce, Johnnie C. (Nell) Renegar, and infant sister Leodell Renegar. Surviving are her son, Mike (Carol) Reavis, Yadkinville; daughter, Jo (Mike) Linville, Yadkinville; son-in-law, Joel Gentry, Yadkinville; grandchildren, James "Jamie" (Anna) Reavis, William S. Linville, Bethany (Jamie) Reavis, Patric Gentry; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Reavis; and her sister, Colleen (Bill) Moon. The family would like to express their appreciation to the special caregivers, Sarah Roseboro, Sandra Sasser, Pat Howard, all the special "Rook Buddies", and to Hospice & Palliative Carecenter of Davie County including, Melinda Smith and Ashley Dalton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday May 3, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday May 4, 2012 at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Chris Hauser. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Youth Fund or the Vision 2020 Fund, 1336 Lone Hickory road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
