Hamptonville Mrs. Carole Lea Johnson Crews, 75, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012. Mrs. Crews was born August 28, 1936 in Yadkin County to Walter and Vernie Pardue Johnson. She was a member of West Yadkin Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and helped with vacation bible school. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Crews; a son, Tim Crews; five sisters, Mozelle Money, Lois Carpenter, Lorene Brown, and two infants; and a nephew, Darry Money. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Brown and Elisa (Tony) Couch; grandchildren, Maria (Mike) Bangle, Shane (Joanna) Brown, Adam Couch, Ashton Couch, and Crystal (Josh) McHone; and great grandchildren, Caleb Trivette, Zane Brown, Jaden Brown, Kaitlin Howell, Destiny Bangle, Hunter Bangle, Jackson Couch, and Courtney Crews. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 3:00 PM at West Yadkin Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Crouse and Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Mtn.
