Allen Gray Day

Mr. Allen Gray Day, 70, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was born February 5, 1952 in Surry County to the late Marvin Franklin Day and Marie Gardner Day. Mr. Day was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Allen was a 1970 graduate of Starmount High School. He enjoyed working on and fixing cars, gardening, cutting wood, and his greatest enjoyment was time spent with his grandchildren especially at their pool. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lee Ann Shore Day; children, Natalie (Jason) Matthews, Grant (Sarah) Day; grandchildren, Mason Day, Stella Matthews, Lyla Matthews; brother, John (Vivian) Day; nephew, John Kelly Day; mother-in-law, Ruby P. Shore. The family will receive friends at Asbury United Methodist Church, Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 4:00 PM till 5:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 5:00 PM with Rev. Julie Wilburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials made to American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Rd., Suite 104, Greensboro, NC 27409.
