Barbara Caudle Brumfield

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Caudle Brumfield, who peacefully departed this life on July 31st at the age of 82.

Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend whose life was defined by love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She found great joy in gardening, nurturing her fruits and vegetables, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She took great pride in sewing and creating handmade treasures that will be cherished for generations. Her talents, patience and caring heart were evident in everything she did.

Barbara was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Melvin and Ella Church; her first husband, James Marvin Caudle; her brothers, Clyde, Delma, Gilbert, and Ed; her daughter, Jane Childress; her daughter-in-law, Tina Caudle; her great-granddaughter, Jazilynn Toler.

She is survived by her sons, Lee and Wayne (Lugenia); her daughters, Debbie (Noah) and Carla; her sisters, Lessie, Minnie, and Elaine (Walt); her brother, Elbert (Dorothy); her sisters-in-law, Virginia, Miranda, Mary, and Barbara; and 5 step children.

Barbara's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Mickey), Maryellen (Chris), Jimmy (Latoshia), Rachel, Michael (Kendra), Jr., Renee (Tommy), Joseph (Bethany), and Braxton; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, and the many children, friends, and extended family members whose lives she touched throughout the years.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Barbara's daughter, Carla, who lovingly served as her caregiver for the past four and a half years. Being a caregiver requires tremendous love, patience, dedication, and sacrifice, and the family will forever be grateful for the care Carla provided her mother and for faithfully being by her side throughout these last few years.

While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing that the woman who spent so many years reading her Bible, praying faithfully, and thanking the Lord has now been reunited in Heaven with so many of the loved ones she has missed.

Barbara will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm smiles, generous heart, and the countless ways she made others feel loved and cared for. Whether she was tending her garden, sewing something special for a loved one, or simply spending time with her family, she created lasting memories that will never be forgotten.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She will have a graveside service on Saturday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are welcome to send floral arrangements or donations to Gentry Family Funeral Services of Yadkinville as a tribute to her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered.
