Barbara Davis Hobson

Our beloved Mama and Granny, Barbara Davis Hobson, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born October 9, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late Fred and Goldie Davis. Barbara was a lifelong member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church on Sunday morning and watching Nascar races on Sunday afternoon along with weekly trips she took with her niece. Granny was competitive even against her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when it came to playing UNO. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Denny Hobson, a brother, John Davis, and a sister, Freddie Wall. Surviving are her children Marty (Boyd) Osborne, Lisa (Robbie) Cain, Joie (Greg) Phillips; grandchildren, Bridget Cain, Amanda (Ricky) Zachary, Aaron Osborne, Nathan (Erica Talley) Phillips, and Riley Phillips; great-grandchildren, Ryan Zachary, Ayla Zachary, Reese Zachary, Asher Zachary, Kyra Akbas, and Areonna Akbas, and a special niece, Debbie Hoover. The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM at the church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Waltz Hospice Home for all the loving support, and a special thank you to Kim Carahan.
