Barbara Christine Shaw

Mrs. Barbara Christine Shaw, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was born in Surry County on April 8, 1951 to Otis Gordon Trexler and Vallie Mae Cook Trexler. Barbara went to Jonesville Elementary School, and graduated from Starmount High School’s first graduating class. She worked at Chatham Manufacturing Company and Carolina Wear. Barbara enjoyed going to the beach. She loved animals and cooking. Everyone who had the privilege to know her will miss her very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Jeff Shaw and sister, Sandra Jolley. She is survived by sisters, Patricia (G.C. “Fuzzy Myers”) Myers and Deborah Baggett; brother, Allen (Vonda) Trexler; brother-in-law, Holland Jolley; nephews, Tiyler Serio and Matthew Trexler; and nieces, Jessica Martinez, Melissa Simakis, and Tabatha Roten.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Shaw family.
