Yadkinville

YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Belinda Johnson Miles, 75, of Ashton Court, entered her heavenly home on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 25, 1949, in Wilkes County to Jack Johnson, Sr. and Marie Minton Linderman.

A proud graduate of North Wilkes High School’s Class of 1968 and of Appalachian State Teachers College in 1972, Mrs. Miles devoted more than 30 years to shaping young lives as a National Board Certified Teacher in the Wilkes and Yadkin County School Systems. Her heart for children shone through in every role she undertook—teaching Home Economics, leading FHA, working summer camps, and even driving a school bus to ensure her students were cared for from the moment they started their day.

A woman of grace, purpose, and unwavering dedication, she was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority and was deeply honored to receive the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of North Carolina’s highest civilian awards. After retiring from teaching, Mrs. Miles continued her commitment to service as the Dietary Manager at Yadkin Nursing Center, where her keen attention to detail and nurturing spirit ensured that no one in her care was ever overlooked.

Mrs. Miles possessed a rare gift for spreading the light of Christ to everyone she met. As the devoted pastor’s wife to her beloved husband, the late Rev. Jesse Miles, Sr., for over 49 years, she lived out her faith with humility and joy. She served faithfully through teaching Sunday School, leading Vacation Bible School, participating in the Women’s Missionary Union, and offering countless acts of quiet service—always believing that actions spoke louder than words.

Her life was a testament to kindness, gratitude, and selfless love. She instilled in her family and friends the importance of treating others with compassion, recognizing blessings big and small, and remembering that each person may be the only reflection of Jesus someone encounters. She encouraged all to let His light shine through their thoughts, words, and deeds.

Above all, Mrs. Miles cherished her family. She was a loving, generous, and steadfast wife, mother, and grandmother who celebrated every accomplishment and supported every dream. Her children and grandchildren never doubted that she was in their corner, cheering and encouraging them with unconditional love.

Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Rev. Jesse L. Miles, Sr., her father, Jack Johnson Sr., and her brother, Jack Johnson, Jr.

Left to honor her memory are her devoted children, Greta (Adrian) Hayes and Jesse (Melissa) Miles, Jr.; her treasured grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Dee, Alicia, Sincere, and Chelsey Hayes; Ethan, Ayden, and Elijah Schneider; her mother, Marie Minton Lenderman; her sister, Jennifer (Flynn) Harrold; her brother, Sam Johnson and fiancée Lisa Sears; nieces Jenna (Bart) Mathis and Ashley (Jake) Billings; and great-niece and nephews Brody & Zoe Mathis and Cooper Billings.

The family will receive friends from 5:00–8:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Jim Miles, Dr. Rick Speas, and Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017, or to the Yadkin County Humane Society, 1027 Speaks Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
