Betty Murray Hale

April 19, 1947 — July 6, 2025

Yadkinville

Mrs. Betty Jean Murray Hale, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning of July 6, 2025. She was greeted in Heaven by her Savior, along with her beloved husband, Rev. William “Bill” Hale. Bill and Betty were faithful servants of God for many years. She was a faithful Pastor’s wife for 34 years. Before being a Pastor’s wife, her and Bill served the Lord in a chalk art ministry, VBS ministry and a nursing home ministry. Betty was born on April 19, 1947 in Asheboro, NC to the late John Clifford and Ruth Dockery Murray Sr. She graduated from Asheboro High School in 1965. She worked for General Electric until her children were born and she cared for them until they went to school. She then worked at Bahnson Company in accounts payable until she retired in 2009. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sitting at the beach reading a good book. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Rev. Joe Johnson; her brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Oddie Murray Jr.; and her great nephews, Jordan Slusher, Walker and Wyatt Collins. Left to treasure her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeff Sheek; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Hale; her grandchildren who she loved fiercely, Justin (Jennifer) Sheek, Brandi (Jared) Miller, Brandon Sheek, Amber (Vance Byerly) Bingaman, Alexis Hale, and Trinity Eyler; her great grandchildren, Ellie James Miller, Everleigh Sheek, Aiden McCormack, and Aria Eyler; her sister, Linda Murray; several nieces and nephews; and dear family members, Larry and Brenda Sheek. Although we will miss her so much here on earth, we know a glad reunion day is coming and we will see her again. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; KJV. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to care givers, Kelly Holcomb and Penny Boyd. Also, to the staff of Trinity Elms Assisted Living and Trellis Supportive Care for the Love and Care they provided Betty. The family will receive friends, Friday, July 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Josh Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
