HAMPTONVILLE – Mrs. Betty Wilma Shore Reece, 82, of Sloans Mill Road passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born December 16, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Floyd “Lester” Shore and Nora Brooks Shore.  Mrs. Reece worked several years as a C.N.A. at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and with Yadkin Valley Home Health.  She was always willing to help others in the community and enjoyed reading, gardening, and working in her flowers.  Mrs. Reece was also a faithful member of Marler Road Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vestal Reece; her son, Robert Jeffery Reece; 4 brothers, Kenneth Shore, Charles Shore, Wayne Shore, Gayle Shore; and by 3 sisters, Carol Sloop, Joann Shoffner, and Dorothy Stone.  Surviving are her beloved son, Danny Wayne Reece; 2 grandchildren, Megan Lynn Reece, Casey Reece; a great-grandson, Sawyer Robert Reece; her sisters, P. “Joan” Hinson, Brenda Stringer, Donna Goforth; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.  The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  A graveside service will follow the visitation at 3:30 PM Sunday in Marler Road Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Johnson.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the funeral home to help with their expenses.
