Mrs. Betty Sue Nance Pottts, 86, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Forsyth Hospital. She was born July 27, 1940 to the late Troy and Ernestine Binkley Nance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Potts; son-in-law, Phillip Gordon; and grandson, Ryan Tilley. Mrs. Potts was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville. She loved her church. Betty Sue was a true Duke Blue Devils basketball fan; she could quote stats about the Blue Devils with anyone. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and traveling. Betty Sue loved her family dearly, from going out to eat to just being with her friends and family, she had a special relationship with her great-grandsons, whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her daughters, Wynn Gordon, Sherrie (Bobby) Priddy; granddaughters, Lesley Gordon, Michelle (Patrick) Harrison, Holly Tilley; great-grandsons, Deacon Harrison, and Falon Harrison. A graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Faith Community Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Josh Boles and Rev. Bob Edwards officiating. The family would like to express gratitude to the ICCU and Palliative Care staff of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care shown to Betty Sue and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund in Lewisville. The family will receive friends at 2522 Binkley Rd., in East Bend. Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend is serving the Potts family.
