Beverly Kay Casstevens, 57, of Yadkinville, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on March 5, 1969, in Surry County to the late James Lee and Mable Steele Casstevens.
Beverly fought cancer for the last seven years showing how strong of a person she was. Through it all she maintained her kind heart. Beverly would do anything to help someone. She was always there for her children and grandchildren, no matter what they needed. Beverly and her twin sister, Virginia, shared a special bond, affectionately referring to each other as “heifer”. Beverly will be greatly missed by those who loved her and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Casstevens. Those left to cherish her memory include her partner, Teresa Brown, children, Chasity (Richard) Hester, Joshua (Talea) Brown, grandchildren, Hailey Hinson, Addyson Hester, Ember Brown, Hazel Brown, twin sister, Virginia (James) Davis, nephews, Dakota (Cierra) Davis, Ethan (Izzy) Sizemore, aunt, Dianne (Flossy) Casstevens, special cousin, Emory Casstevens and special niece, Courtney Sloan, who she loved very much.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, August 18, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with funeral services to follow in the Gentry Family Chapel. Burial will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church. The family requests that everyone attending the services please wear pink.
