Mr. Billy Grant Miller, 95, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born July 27, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Powell Elbert Miller and Diona Hinshaw Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frances Matthews Miller; son, Stephen Grant Hamm; daughter, Robin Stevens; grandson, Grant Hamm; great-granddaughter, Kendra Hamm; son-in-law, Barry Adams; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hamm; brothers, Pelzo Miller, Mike Miller; brothers-in-law, James Shoffner, Warren G. Adams; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Adams, Ora Mae Miller. Mr. Miller was a US Army Veteran. He worked and retired from Dan Beck Ford when the business closed. Billy was a lifelong farmer and was better known in the community as “Strawberry Man”. He spent many years after retirement selling fresh produce (especially strawberries) door to door from the trunk of his car. Every Friday night, he could be found at the East Bend Senior Center playing Rook. He dearly loved Friday nights fellowshipping at the Senior Center and his very special friends, Becky Poindexter and Steve Taylor always made sure he got home safely. He is survived by his daughters, Dianne (Gene) Doub, Mary Adams; grandchildren, Allen (Brandy) Doub, Ashley Adams (Brandon Hutchens), Casey (Suzanne) Doub, Tara (Mike) Harris, Layla (Brock) Parrish, Byron Hamm; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Adams (Madison Mauldin), Branson Hutchens, Alana Doub, Kora Harris, Brantley Harris, Eli Doub, Shelby Doub, Willow Parrish, Briggston Parrish, Dixie Doub; son-in-law, Mitch Stevens and family; brother, Randy (Linda) Miller; sister, Luray Shoffner; sister-in-law, Dixie Miller, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Prospect United Methodist Church. He will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post #10346. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Bend Senior Center or Mtn. Valley Hospice.
