Bobby Miller Hauser

Psalm 91:1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

YADKINVILLE – Mr. Bobby Miller Hauser, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 14, 1935, in Yadkin County, Bobby was the son of the late Labon and Johnnie Miller Hauser.

A graduate of Courtney High School, Bobby furthered his education at Appalachian State University before beginning a career with Jefferson-Smurfit, where he faithfully served for 38 years until his retirement. While he worked diligently throughout his career, his greatest accomplishments were found in his unwavering faith, his devotion to his family, and the example of Christ he lived each day.

Bobby was a lifelong member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Lord and church family for many years. He was honored to serve as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and on numerous church committees. His steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart left a lasting impact on generations of church members and friends.

He was also a proud member of Yadkin Masonic Lodge #162 A.F. & A.M., where he enjoyed the fellowship and principles of the Masonic fraternity.

Bobby loved being active and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life with others. Whether on the golf course, playing baseball, softball, or volleyball, or coaching young athletes, he found great joy in competition and camaraderie. He especially treasured his years with Bob's Buzzards Softball Team, where he created countless memories and lifelong friendships. Those who knew Bobby will fondly remember his spirited personality and good-natured conversations with the umpires. He firmly believed they should always be held accountable for the occasional "questionable" call, and his lighthearted encouragement from the dugout became one of his many endearing trademarks. His sense of humor, infectious smile, and ability to make others laugh will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, Bobby cherished his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful friend whose life was marked by kindness, integrity, unconditional love, and hard work. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved and watching his family grow through the generations. His legacy of faith, humility, and devotion will continue to live on in each of them.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 70 years, Ann Hoots Hauser of the home; four children, Vicki (Dale) Durham, Mickey (Lisa) Hauser, Cindy (Gary) Swaim, and Rev. Chris (Paige) Hauser; grandchildren, Paige (Alan) Clark, Natalie (Justin) Vestal, Derek Hauser, Aaron (Samantha) Swaim, and Landon (Jessica) Swaim; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Ryan, Leah, and Madelyn Swaim, Brady and Mason Swaim, Brooklyn and Banks Clark, and Henson and June Vestal. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by those who welcomed him into his heavenly home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Mr. Hauser will lie in state from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Yadkin Masonic Lodge #162 A.F. & A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vision 2020 Fund or the South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1336 Lone Hickory Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate nurses of Mountain Valley Hospice, Dr. Patty Williams, and Angela Martin for the exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to Bobby and his family during his final days.

Though Bobby's earthly journey has ended, his life stands as a testimony to a man who loved God, loved his family, loved his church, and loved people well. His quiet strength, unwavering faith, joyful humor, and servant's heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
