Brenda Cheek Combs

Brenda Cheek Combs 79, of Elkin, passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

She was born January 21, 1945, in Wilkes County to the late Roy Cheek and Ruby Mastin Cheek. Brenda retired from Phillips Van Heusen as a quality control specialist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey William Combs; her brothers, Charlie Cheek, George Cheek, and Vernon Cheek, and her sister, Florence Harris.  Brenda is survived by her husband, Donald “Wayne” Combs, her sons, Billy Wayne Combs and Jamie Dale Combs, her grandchildren Jeffrey Combs, Bethany Combs, Breanna Combs, Marilee Combs and Marissa Combs, six great-grandchildren, her sisters, Shirley (James) Luffman, Linda Prevette, Glenda (Bill) Myers, Wanda White, and Mary Bryant.  She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. 

An outdoor celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Beulahland Non-Denominational Church, Rev. Garry Anderson will officiate.
