Brenda Miller Wishon

Mrs. Brenda Kay Miller Wishon, 75, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. She was born December 23, 1947 in Yadkin County to the late Claude Paul Miller and Ethel Mae Moorefield Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Hobson; and a brother-in-law, David Smith. Mrs. Wishon joined Richmond Hill Baptist Church at the age of 18, in 1965, where she was a lifelong member. Brenda attended Boonville High School and later graduated from The House of Charm Beauty College in 1967 and was the family hair dresser for many years. She worked at Oldtown Veterinary Hospital for 20 years, where she developed a great love for animals, which led to her breeding and grooming pets. Brenda was a strong independent lady with a heart of gold. She never met a stranger, and she loved gardening and landscaping at her home. She is survived by her husband, R.C. Wishon; her daughter, Christi (Richard) Smithey; grandchildren, Ryan (Karla) Pate, Dylan Pate, Samantha “Sam” Smithey; sisters, Norma (Steve) Davis, Patricia (Ronnie) Renegar, Debby Smith. The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend. A funeral service will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Money and Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Health Care for the loving care shown to Brenda. Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend is serving the Wishon family.
