Carlton "Glenn" Miller

Mr. Carlton “Glenn” Miller, 87, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born July 9, 1937 in Watauga County to the late Thomas Ruffin Miller and Alma Faye Gross Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Billie Miller Gragg, Tommy Lee Miller, Joseph Bruce Miller and Gene Miller.

Mr. Miller completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University, and his graduate degree at Appalachian State University. He was retired from the public school system as an administrator. After retirement, he helped with his family's business for many years. His family owned and operated Cardinal Care Health Care in Yadkinville. Glenn had a great love for singing, as he sang at many weddings and funerals. He was the music director at several churches throughout the years. Glenn loved cooking and was an excellent cook. He also enjoyed gardening. Above everything, Glenn had a great love for his family and friends and truly cherished each of them.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Miller Parker; grandchildren, Alexandra Parker, Lilliana Parker, and West Parker; sisters, Gail Miller Chapman and Mary Miller Matthews; brother John Miller (Lisa); former wife and dear friend, Eva K. Bingham; and several nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Center Grove Church in Clemmons. The family will receive friends after the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to Trellis Hospice, and Dr. Steven R. Klein for the loving care shown to Mr. Miller. A very special thank you to Glenn’s sister, Gail, for being by his side and taking care of him over the last 8 years. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Miller Family.
