Carson Ray Hobson

Boonville Mr. Carson Ray Hobson, 72, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his home. Carson was born December 15, 1949 in Surry County to Joseph Ray and Hedy Moser Hobson. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a proud member of the VFW Post 10346. Carson was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and taught Hunters Safety for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, often times, taking students along with him. Carson was preceded in death by his father. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Vaun Sharar Hobson; two children, Tara Hobson and Andy Cole Hobson (Audrey Griffin); grandchildren, Seth Hobson and Carson James Hobson; a sister, Jan Shotwell; and a brother, Nicky Hobson. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00PM, prior to the service at the church.
