Charles Thomas Tarter

Mr. Charles Thomas Tarter, 68, passed away on August 30, 2023 surrounded by family. Charles was born on February 25, 1955 to Thomas Leroy Tarter, Jr. and Arlene Bowie Tarter. Charles had a love for Harley’s and was a rider for over 40 years. He was also a train enthusiast and collected them as well. 

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Riggs Tarter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John (Lisa) Tarter of Colorado and James (Emily) Tarter of Texas; step-daughters, Christy (Greg) Gumpert and Maggie Sink; grandchildren, Riley Tarter, Haley Tarter, Kiersten Gumpert, Ainsley Gumpert and Robbie Gumpert; brothers, Ted Tarter, Keith Tarter and Kirk Tarter; a sister-in-law, Teresa (Beverly) Casstevens. 

The Tarter family would like to thank the staff at Woltz Hospice Home and SECU Hospice Care Center for their care over Charles. They would also like to thank special friends, William and Mickey. A funeral service will be held at a later date.
