EAST BEND - Rev. Coleman Robert Watts, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was born September 3, 1940 in Buncombe County, NC. He was the son of Rev. Berry R. Watts and Ruby Pinkerton Watts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, James R. Watts, and a brother, Hugh Watts. Survived by his sons, Pastor Bobby (Sandie) Watts of East Bend, NC, Kenneth E. (Luann) Watts of Easley, SC. ; daughter-in-law, Debbie Watts of Easley, SC; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Coleman was a loving dad and "papa" who worked many hours to provide for his family. He served as pastor to Antioch Baptist Church in Pickens, SC; South Cohutta Baptist Church in Cohutta, GA.; Grace Baptist Church in Liberty, SC; Victory Baptist Church in Easley, SC; and Gethsemane Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He always took good pleasure in helping anyone he could.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in East Bend at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026 with visitation one hour before the service. Pastor Bobby Watts and Pastor Chris Davis will officiate. A family graveside gathering will be held Monday, July 27, 2026 at Pisgah View Memorial Gardens in Candler, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4332 Mt. Bethel Ch. Road, East Bend, NC 27018.
