Davis "Jack" Stewart

Boonville – Davis “Jack” Stewart, 84, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center.  He was born July 14, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Reece Curtis Stewart and Pauline Davis Stewart.  Jack was a member at Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He enjoyed watching all types of sports on TV especially Duke Basketball and Atlanta Braves Baseball.  Jack loved spending time outdoors and camping with his friends and family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Beatrice Allen Stewart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Hyatt, Nell and T.L. Matthews, Franklin Hinshaw.  Surviving are his children, Tim (Marty) Stewart, Tonya (Phillip) Wilkins; grandchildren, Savanna (Brad) Burgess, Ashley (Nathan) Reed, Brinsley (Zack) Faircloth, Stewart (Quinn) Wilkins; great grandson, Redge Reece Faircloth; sister, Louise Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews.  His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Kenny Gooden.  Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  The family would like to thank Meals on Wheels and Yadkin Nursing Care Center for all the love and care shown to Jack.  Memorials can be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 2401 Nebo Road, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Stewart family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
