Delba "Debbie" Brown Groce

Ronda II Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith;” Delba “Debbie” Jean Brown Groce, 69, passed away Monday June 12, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born May 10, 1954 in Surry County to the late Nelson Somers Brown and Josephine Hyatt Brown. Mrs. Groce loved gardening, flowers, Chrismons, quilting, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Brown; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Macemore. Surviving are her husband Alvis Gray Groce; sisters Faye Brown Macemore, Denna Brown (Tommy) Shore; brother Gray (Debbie) Brown. The family will receive friends form 1-2 pm Thursday June 15, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM following the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Joe Souther. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home and Cancer Center at Baptist Hospital for the loving care given to Mrs. Groce. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017 or to St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital.
