Dennis Clayborn Porter

Boonville Mr. Dennis Clayborn Porter, 64, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Porter was born May 4, 1958 in Yadkin County to Chester Leo and Carolyn Dobson Porter. Mr. Porter enjoyed drag racing and mowing yards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Porter was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jamall Shepard and a brother-in-law, Walter Welborn. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Carolyn Lytle Porter; children, William Bradley Hampton and Kevin LaQuan Williamson; step children, Samuel Dewayne Hood, Jr., Michael Sherrod (Erica) Shepard, and Jacqueline Nicole Shepard; grandchildren, Bralyn Hampton, Michalea Shepard, Kylan Shepard, Justin Shepard, Janelle Knight, and Jayla Shepard; sisters, Cynthia (Richard) Russell, Jada (Joe) Ganzzermiller, and Tujuana Welborn; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care given to Mr. Porter.
