East Bend -  Our loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend to many, Derek Brent Coe, 51, of Lace Knoll Road won his battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia, to enter the gates of Heaven and be released from the chains of suffering in this world.  He was born April 26, 1972 in Yadkin County to Robert Thomas Coe and Inez Driver Coe Tilley.  Brent was an honest, hard-working man, who loved to help others.  He worked for several years with Yadkin County School Systems Maintenance Department, loved taking care of his animals or going hunting and fishing with friends and family.  His family was important to him and he always enjoyed coaching his children or watching them play different sports through the years.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thomas Coe and by all of his grandparents.  Surviving are his beloved wife of 27 years, Jennie Wall Coe; his children, Madison Michele Coe (Jacob Michael Pack) and Mason Robert Coe; his grandson, River Derek Pack; sister, Lisa Runyan; nieces and nephews, Kiersten Wall, Peyton Wall, Bryson Wall, Chaston Runyan; mother and step-father, Inez D. Tilley and Ted Tilley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Sharon Wall; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eric and Andrea Wall and his special close friends who have stood with him faithfully and are known as “The Fellas”, Jesse “Jess” Brown, Maurice “Cat” Smitherman, Steven “Tuck” Tucker, Scott “Doub” Doub, Adrian “A” Johnson, Jason “Bob” Scott, Michael “Parks” Parks, Tony Cockerham, Terry “Hog” Caudle, Andy “Bones” Snow, Lance Brown, Jason Graham, Paul Choplin, and George Rockett.  The family is thankful and extends their gratitude to “the Fellas” for their loving support given to Brent.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  His Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 4 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Chris Hauser.  Flowers will be accepted or Memorials may be made to WellCare Hospice of Advance.
