Donald Gray Brown

East Bend Mr. Donald Gray Brown, 80, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at his home. Donald was born December 27, 1942, in Yadkin County to Bill and Martha Jane Miller Brown. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and enjoyed farming. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two step-sons, Randy Brown and Steve Brown; and a sister, Janie Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Margaret Speer Brown; children, Catherine (Hoke) Matthews, Donna (Andy) Whitman, Grant (Cindy) Brown, and William (Rhonda) Brown; step-son, Mike (Michelle) Brown; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Vaught, Emmy (Steven) Corn, Amanda (Lee) Bailey, Andrew (Hannah) Whitman, Maria (Jordan) McCarn, Danny (Denee) Brown, Eric (Meagan) Lewallen, Mickey Brown, Channing (John) Kokkonos, Austin (Paige) Brown, Justin Brown, and Morgan Brown; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Eleanor, Landon, Addie, Owen, Mason, Colton, Hank, Bryson, Brantley, Madilynne, Aiden, Haylee, Sienna, and one on the way; sister, Patricia Brown; brother, Johnny (Linda) Brown; brother-in-law, James Parker; and special friends, Vernon Brown and Roy Brown. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Keith Jones and Rev. Steven Corn officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cross Friends Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Cross Friends Church, 2533 Union Cross Church Road Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Brown family.
