Donald "Donnie" Hershel Adams

Dobson – Donald “Donnie” Hershel Adams, 73, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023.  He was born July 21, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late Henry Hershel Adams and Opal Davis Adams.  Donnie enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, raising a garden, and deer hunting.  He served in the U.S. Army and retired from R.J. Reynolds.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Adams Reid, Wilma Sue Adams; brother, Larry Adams.  Surviving is his sister, Margaret (Ronald) Slater; brothers, Bobby (Dot) Adams, Kelly (Donna) Adams; nieces, Michelle (John) Shoaf, Melissa (Treavor) Smith; nephew, Kent (Angie) Adams; and several other nieces, nephews, and family members.  His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 10, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Danny Dodds.  Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Adams family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
