East Bend – Mr. Donald Ray Jester, 67, of Friendship Circle passed away peacefully Friday, November 17, 2023 at his home.  He was born December 30, 1955 in Forsyth County to the late James and Elsie Mae Davis Jester.  Mr. Jester was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved his grandchildren above everything, and loved watching them race go-carts at God’s Garage, loved attending any sports they were involved in, and always wanted to be around them.  Through his life he also enjoyed horseback riding, detailing cares, watching NASCAR, especially loved watching old western movies, and listening to On the Beach with Charlie Brown at 98.1 WBRF in Galax, Va.  Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Jill Macemore Jester; his son, Donald (Jesselynn) Jester II; his bonus daughters, Jalissa (Darryl) Speer, Jessica (Jason) Hillard, Misty (Brandon) Bodsford; his precious grandchildren, Kami Hillard, Mikinly Speer, Ian Speer, Walker Jester, Marley Lindsey; and his sister, Robin (George) Benbow.  A Private Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for all of their loving care and support given to Mr. Jester.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to God's Garage, PO Box 384, East Bend, NC  27018.
