Donald John Philip

Jonesville Mr. Donald John Philip. 77, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home. Mr. Philip was born January 7, 1946 in Lake Forest, Illinois to Hugh and Aune Worlin Philip. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having proudly served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Philip was a member of New Day Assembly Church and enjoyed flowers, fishing, talking to people and shopping. In addition to his parents, Mr. Philip was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothea “June” Timney Philip; two children, Douglas John (Emily) Philip and Donelle Philip (Chad) Church; and grandchildren, Addison Faith Church, Barrett Douglas Philip, Hughett John Philip, Weston Jack Philip, and Fiona Dorothy Philip. A memorial service honoring Mr. Philip’s life will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at New Day Assembly Church in Hamptonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lifeline Pregnancy Center PO Box 447 Elkin, NC 28621.
