Edna Sue Brown

Mrs. Edna Sue Shew Brown, 66, passed away peacefully at her residence, Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born March 15, 1957 in Wilkes County to the late Joyce Anderson Stokes. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Shew; her grand dogs, Gracie, Sadie, Gypsy, and Izzy; her special grandbaby “Gabby”, whom she helped raise and cared for. Mrs. Brown loved gardening, cooking, working in home health and she loved children, having helped raise many over the years. Sue better known as “Gan Ma” to her K9 grand dogs, whom she loved each one of them dearly. Mrs. Brown loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she loved going to church when her health permitted. She is survived by her husband, Danny Joe Brown; children, Bonnie (Gene) Kinley, Tony (Tasha) Brown; grand dog, Balto; sister, Kathy (Wayne) Jones, Janet Shew, Linda Shew. The family will receive friends, Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Gentry Family chapel with Rev. Jason Penley officiating. Burial will follow in the United Fellowship Church cemetery. The family would like to thank nurses at Forsyth Memorial Hospital CICU, Karl Reynolds, Larry Mize, and Andrea Castro for the loving care given to Sue and her family.
