Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Pamelia Martin Wall, 96, of Boonville passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. She was born in East Bend to the late Troy Wesley Martin and Pearl Dezern Martin. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 20 years, Caswell Clyde Wall, her siblings, Colonel Thomas W. Martin & wife, Faye J. Martin, Francis Pauline (Polly) Martin & husband, Foy Reece, Henry Scott Martin, and her nephew, Martin Reece. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Martin Patterson of East Bend, NC, her nephews and nieces, Scott (Susan) Martin of Grand Rapids, CO, John (Lauri) Martin of Renton, WA, Allan (Ellen) Reece of Boonville, NC, Vickie (Dick Evans) Martin of Palo Alto, CA, Lang (Cheri) Martin of East Bend, NC, Lisa (Ronnie) Martin Pendry of Boonville, NC, numerous great-nephews and nieces, great-great nephews and nieces, her two stepsons, Jerry Wall and Randy (Tracy) Wall, and their families, and a special neighbor and friend, Donna Bell. Mrs. Wall graduated from Boonville High School in 1945 and from Appalachian State Teachers College in 1954. “Miss Martin” taught 4th grade for 42 years, and when the very first NC Teacher of the Year Award was presented, she received that honor for Boonville Elementary School. Mrs. Wall was a very faithful member of Boonville Baptist Church for 54 years and of East Bend Baptist Church for 42 years. While at both churches, she served as a Sunday School teacher, WMU president, choir member, choir director and church clerk. Mrs. Wall volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity and was also one of the original 19 Friends of the Boonville Library who were responsible for the establishment of the first Boonville Library. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, listening to music, reading, and being an avid Duke men’s basketball fan. Surprising to most, after living 76 years as a completely happy single woman with a great career, world travel, family, friends, and hobbies, she met the love of her life, Clyde Wall. They were married on November 26, 2004 and enjoyed the sweetest marriage for many wonderful years. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 121:1-2 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2025 at East Bend Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Allen Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Boonville Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local hospice organization. Mrs. Wall was graciously cared for by Trellis Supportive Care and also the staff of Brookdale Senior Living. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Martin family.
