Ellon Hoots Ratledge

Ellon Hoots Ratledge, 91, passed away Tuesday June 4, 2024. She was born September 1, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Samuel Jason Hoots and Jewel Lynch Hoots. She enjoyed taking care of others and making pound cakes for many different functions. Ellon was one of the oldest members of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Beverly Ann Caudle; one brother Hurley Gray Hoots; infant sister Kathleen Hoots; one great grandson. Survived by her son Tim (Patti) Ratledge, six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren; sisters Carol Pendergrass, Polly Shore, Rita Snow; brothers Larry Hoots, Denny Hoots. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Friday June 7, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her service will be conducted at 11:00 Am following the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel by Dr. Phil Beavers. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff of Yadkin Nursing center and Liberty Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Hoots.
