Eloise Hobson Crissman

April 30, 1941 — June 8, 2023

Mrs. Eloise Hobson Crissman, 82, of Lime Rock Road passed away peacefully Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born April 30, 1941 in Surry County to the late William Joseph and Bonnie Mae Stanley Hobson.  Mrs. Crissman was owner and operator of Boonville Flower and Gift for over 43 years until her retirement.  She loved serving her customers and the Boonville community during the good times and sad times, and often shared a laugh or funny story.  She was also a faithful and active member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.  Mrs. Crissman loved helping others, children, adults, elderly, or sick.  At Richmond Hill she served the church by starting the “Bags of Love” which was a backpack ministry to help elementary school children.  She encouraged others to help her with the support of “Bags of Love” by packing, purchasing supplies, or delivering to the schools.  Mrs. Crissman was a member of the WMU and the Purple Hat Ladys of the WMU.  She also baked a cake or pie for every member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and to others in the community.  Mrs. Crissman loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a fun Grandma, or “Weze” as she was lovingly known, and always enjoyed attending any sporting events participated by her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Ross Crissman.  Surviving are her children, Joey (Mechelle) Crissman, Jill C. (Robert) Logan, Ginger C. (Rev. Will) Hamric; grandchildren, Joseph (Alex) Crissman, Anna Kathryn Logan (Brett) Howe, Roseanna Crissman (Austin) Laws; great-grandchildren, Charley Joe Crissman, Eloise Kate Crissman, Sadie Laws, Ross Laws, Banks Crissman, Adelaide Howe, Kathryn Howe; sisters, Frances (Eddy) Poteate, Bonnie Jo (Gerry) Keen; and several Canadian cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Will Hamric.  The family will have a reception for friends immediately following the service in the Richmond Hill Baptist Family Life Center.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Bags of Love Ministry of Richmond Hill Baptist Church, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC  27011, or to the Meme Brown Fight Like a Girl Scholarship Fund, c/o NC Community Foundation, 3737 Glenwood Ave. Suite 460, Raleigh, NC 27612.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Crissman Family.
