He was born in Davie County on January 10, 1962 to Elden Duayne and Peggy Ernestine Frye Steelman. Surviving are his parents of Yadkinville; two sisters, Patricia Steelman Myers and Malinda Hall; a brother, Brian Keith Steelman; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
