Eva Takacs Nowack

December 26, 1941 — March 29, 2026

Raleigh

God blessed our world with the gift of Eva Stephanie Takacs on December 26, 1941. One of six siblings, she was born to George and Philomena (Srnecz)Takacs, in Norwalk, Connecticut. Eva spent her childhood in Wilton, Connecticut, graduating from Wilton High School in 1959. In 1961, Eva met and married George Nowack, the love of her life. In following years they welcomed four children-- Michelle, George, Melissa, and Hoon, and resided first in Connecticut, and then in New Hampshire.

Throughout the family years, Eva labored with George to provide the very best foundation for their children. The treasures of farming, Christian school, music lessons, and fun family excursions enriched each family member. Eva also held various employment positions including clerical, sales, dollmaking, and domestic service.

In retirement years, Eva and George enjoyed the charms of North Carolina southern living— gardening, boating, and forming many friendships in their church and neighborhood communities. Throughout these sweet years, they continued to enrich the lives of their children and grandchildren.

Eva was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and loving grandmother. Her life flowed out of her utmost treasure, her personal relationship with Jesus Christ—her Lord and Saviour. Her hunger to know Jesus and to be conformed to His likeness drove Eva ever deeper into the scriptures, and her legacy of faithfulness to this Truth ripples far and wide in the lives of all who have witnessed her sweet testimony of loving devotion to her Saviour. She pointed others to Him with every opportunity she had and was a faithful prayer warrior.

Surrounded by her loving family, Eva was called home by her heavenly Father on Sunday, March 29, 2026, after a brief illness. She is survived by George, her loving husband of sixty-four years, her children, Michelle (Jesse)Zufall, George Nowack, and Melissa (Mark) Brooks, her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings Phyllis (Richard) Cross, George (Linnea)Takacs, and dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Joseph (Mae)Takacs, Pauline (William) Magner, and Mary (Wallace) Schneider, and by her dear son Hoon Nowack and daughter-in-law Linda Nowack.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, NC.  Her Service of Celebration for the Life of Mrs. Nowack will follow the visitation at 2 PM Wednesday in the Gentry Family Chapel officiated by her son-in-law, Rev. Mark Brooks.  Interment will follow in the Center Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN), PO Box 7300, Charlotte, NC 28241.
