Felix Wood

Mr. Felix Wood, 93, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was born in Davie County on April 26, 1930 to Herbert and Ruby Wood. Felix was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and greatly enjoyed watching football. He loved Nascar, going fishing with his friends from Dunmore Plantation, and taking a drive. He will be deeply missed by all who had the special privilege to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Wood; second wife, Mary Wood; and several siblings and nephews. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Hardy and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Sterling Hardy and Koren Hardy and husband, Martin Church; sister, Bertha Vanhoy; brother, Roy Wood; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ramsey Embry officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later time at Salem Fork Christian Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medi Home Health and Hospice, 403 S. Main Street, Sparta, NC 28675. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Dunmore Plantation for the loving and compassionate care given to Felix and his family during his time there.
