George Stephen Taylor (Troyan) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1971, to George R. Troyan and Joanne L. Troyan in Auburn, NY.
Our George was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and loved God with his entire being and wasn’t afraid to say it. He was probably one of the funniest people you ever met, unmatched wit and humor. Incredibly smart, could draw crazy good, so very handsome, loved fully, a friend to all of God’s creatures. He loved his cars (allllll of them!), basketball, sneakers (alllll of those too!!), his friends. If you heard his laugh and saw that huge, beautiful smile on his wonderful face and his soulful eyes get all crinkly and weren’t already his friend, you made him a friend ASAP—he was infectious, every part of him. Our George was also very deep—he loved hard, he expected the best from himself and those around him, and he wasn’t shy to speak up; he always meant it with the best of intentions. Being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, George decided to dedicate his life to helping others with autism. He was finishing his certifications and had accepted a position with ABC of NC. He was extremely proud and excited to be helping others, especially children.
He moved to North Carolina in his late teens after meeting the beloved Taylor family. Wanda, Stephen, Jacob, Tia, and Sara were his second family, and we are so very thankful they loved him so incredibly much.
George is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, John and Helen Troyan, and Joseph and Bertha Smith; his father, George R. Troyan; his North Carolina mother, Wanda N. Taylor; and numerous uncles, cousins, dear friends, as well as his four-legged sidekicks, Gracie, Shelbie, and Maybel.
Survived are his mother, Joanne L. Troyan of Corpus Christi, TX; his twin sister, Joanne L. Moore (Raymond) of New Braunfels, TX; sister, Christina A. Frazier (Brent), of Saint Hedwig, TX; and sister, Brenda A. Moore (Brian), along with their children, his beloved niece, Madelyn C. Troyan-Moore and nephew, Christian M. Moore of Lexington Park, MD; and his North Carolina family, dad, Richard Stephen Taylor, brother, Jacob Richard Taylor and sisters, Tia Taylor Miller and Sara Taylor Willard; his faithful kitty companion, Callie; along with numerous aunts, cousins and friends.
A memorial service for our George will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Enon Baptist Church, 6321 E Old US 421 Hwy, East Bend, NC.
In lieu of flowers, his family is asking for donations (https://gofund.me/26faaf83) to cover funeral costs and anything remaining after those costs will be donated to the Fairytale Farm Animal Sanctuary (www.fairytalefarm.org) and ABC of NC (www.abcofnc.org), both in Winston-Salem.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, love, and light for all of those who will miss him deeply and dearly.
