Mrs. Georgia Kate Brown Windsor, 78, of Hamptonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2026, at King Rehabilitation Center in King.
Born April 3, 1948, in Surry County, she was the daughter of the late George Poindexter Brown and Martha Faye Harrison Brown. Georgia was a familiar and friendly face to many through her years of service with Food Lion in Yadkinville, or wherever she was needed, where her warm personality and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She will be remembered for her caring heart, her gift of conversation, and her ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Georgia never met a stranger and found joy in simply talking and connecting with others. She also loved spending time outdoors tending to her flowers, finding peace and happiness in nature. Her family and friends knew her as being “left-handed all over,” a phrase that captured her unique and endearing spirit. Georgia loved crafting, thrift store shopping, and never missed a clearance rack.
Earlier in life, she attended West Yadkin Baptist Church, and more recently, she cherished the fellowship she shared with her family at Branon Friends Meeting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Windsor.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Regenia Watson; her grandchildren, Aidan Watson, Kinley Watson, Traver Watson, and Kaymen Watson; her great-grandchild, Keiley Watson; her brothers, Santford (Margaret) Brown, Joseph (Joanna) Brown, and Carl (Martha) Brown; her mother-in-law, Edwina Martin; her lifelong friend, Bunny Bean; along with several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Pamela Boardman and Carlene King, who will all miss her deeply.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
Georgia’s legacy of kindness, conversation, and love for others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
