Georgia Reavis Watts

YADKINVILLE-  Mrs. Georgia Alice Reavis Watts, 93, entered her Heavenly home Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Willowbrook Heath Care.  Georgia was born February 22, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late Bynum and Ila Jester Reavis.  She was a resident at Willowbrook Health Care since July 9, 2018.  After graduating from Courtney High School, Georgia attended Mars Hill College, where she met her future husband, Ernest Garner Watts.  She and Ernie were married on June 26, 1948 and had 49 years of happiness together until his death February 12, 1998.  Both had been reared in Christian homes, serving the Lord together and were of the Baptist Faith.  They were charter members of Bread of Life Baptist Church in 1986.  Georgia had a life that enriched her family, church, and community by caring and sharing of herself.  She had “smiles” and “hugs” that everyone will remember.  She was very active in her church.  At various times she was a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, W.M.U. Director, Acteens Leader, Choir Member and served as a Deacon.  Georgia always had a special love for children, which was part of her heartbeat of life.  Georgia had been self-employed accountant for many years.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory several cousins, a host of loved ones and friends, and her canine baby, “Buffy”.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. James Taylor and Rev. Jim Lytle.  Interment will follow in South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to either Bread of Life Baptist Church, 4557 NC Hwy 801-N, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
