Gilbert Howell Sr.

Mr. Gilbert Howell Sr., 78, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was born March 11, 1945 in Davie County to the late Sam Howell and Ethel Foote Howell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Porter Howell, and numerous brothers, and sisters. He is survived by his children, Bobby Howell, Leroy Howell, Kevin (Tonia) Howell, Gilbert (Adriana Terry) Thomas Howell Jr.; grandchildren, Rodney Howell, Heather Long, Sasha Howell, Devin Howell, Mason Alexander Howell, Jodeci Howell, Samari Howell, Aniyah Terry; great-grandchildren, Ava Howell, Shamiya Howell, Tamaya Howell, Aaliah Dalton, and Dasaun Dalton. Mr. Howell was a hard worker all of his life. He began at an early age operating heavy machinery from bulldozers to backhoes. He also enjoyed working on lawn mowers. The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Monday, April 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM till 12:00 PM. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Joel Shackleford officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarks Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Howell will be available for public viewing, Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
