Imogene Macemore Collins

Imogene Macemore Collins, 91, of Jonesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 14, 2026. Mrs. Collins was born July 11, 1934, to the late Ernest Taft Macemore and Dacie Pardue Macemore.

Imogene was always smiling, even as she passed away. She was the sweetest kindest soul to every person she met. Her family loved her great cooking and looked forward to Sunday lunches at her house. When Imogene was younger, she loved to dance to bluegrass music. She enjoyed watching western movies.

In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ray Collins, her sister, Irene Holbrook, her niece, Brenda Marshall, and her nephew Charles Marion.

Those left to cherish Imogene’s precious memory include her son, Rickey Macemore, her grandchildren, Melissa Macemore and Jessica (Wes) Duggins, her great-grandchildren, Olivia Duggins and Eric Duggins, her sister Evelyn Lowery, her brother Kenneth (Maxine) Macemore, niece, Janice Wright and nephew, Kevin (Sandra) Macemore.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, March 20, 2026, 1:00pm at Crestwood Memorial Gardens, State Road, NC.

The family would like to thank Imogene’s special caregivers, Courtney Henley and Melissa Brown for their excellent care and attention.

Because Imogene loved the activities provided at Pruitt Health, in lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations that will be given to Courtney Henley, Activities Director at Pruitt, to provide the opportunity for others at the facility to enjoy these enrichment activities.
