Mr. J. Lee Winters, 74, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born June 22, 1949 in Yadkin County to the late Ernest Hardin Winters and Opal Mae Haynes Winters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Kathy Holcomb Winters; his son Terry Winters; brother Charles Winters; grandchildren, Mitzi Eldridge, and Colton Hart. He is survived by his loving wife Donna Reavis Winters; children, Tamothy (Demes) Eldridge, Sherry Winters, Megan (Matthew) Sizemore, Jared (Liz) Hart; grandchildren, Heather (Nathan) Royal, Zane (Katie) Eldridge, Jordan (Tiffany) Eldridge, Katie (Michael) Winters, Kristin (William) Raines, Carrie (Darrell) Hodges, Brody Sizemore, Sammy Sizemore, Reed Sizemore, Mary-Grace Hart, Silas Hart, Lydia Hart; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Brown, Brenda (Harold) Buelin, Marilyn Adkins, Sharon (Bobby) Childress, Bobbie Sue (Rick) Inscore; sister-in-law, Kim Winters; and several nieces and nephews, and his many special friends at Darwin’s Café and Hamptonville BP. J. Lee was an expert at concrete pouring and finishing and grading work. He could work on most anything that had an engine. His greatest love was his family, in which he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, Friday, December 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Don Hudson and Rev. James Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Winters family.
