Jackson William "JW" Cheek

Jackson William “JW” Cheek, 82, passed away on Friday April 28, 2023. He was born March 21, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Dolphus Cheek and Oma Groce Cheek. JW enjoyed tractor pulling and anything with Farmall tractors. He always said, “If it ain’t Red, keep it in the Shed.” He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Frankie Sloan Cheek; sisters Lois Cheek, Inez Waddell, Margaret Shore, Annie Lee Cheek; brother Bill Cheek. Surviving are his children Mark (Candy) Cheek, Shannon (Brad) White; grandchildren Morgan (Jared) Collins, Jordyn White; sister Athlene (Paul) Fulton; sister in law Marie Cheek; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Graveside service 4:30 PM Tuesday Swaims Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Jimmy Lancaster. The family would like to say thank you to the staff at Home Instead, Mountain Valley Hospice, and a special thanks to Nellie, Noel, Lois, and Dayna for the loving care given to JW Cheek.
