Jacky "Jack" Darrell Hawks

Mr. Jacky “Jack” Darrell Hawks, 71, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026. Mr. Hawks was born January 14, 1955 in Yadkin County to the late Melvin Junior Hawks and Mary Childress Hawks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Craig Marler. Mr. Hawks was retired after 30 years of service as a special needs teacher assistant at The Special Children’s School in Forsyth County. He was an avid wood worker; he especially loved building blue bird houses. Jack enjoyed playing violin, and listening to books on audio. He spoke Spanish which he was self-taught. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Roxanne Lewis Hawks; his sons, Daryl Hawks, Matthew Hawks; grandchildren, Liam Hawks, Dahlia Hawks; sisters, Ann (Bobby) Jones, Katie (Ronald) Moore; brothers, Wayne (Annette) Hawks, Keith (Lisa) Hawks; mother-in-law, Shirley Lewis; sister-in-law, Crystal (Craig) Salmon; many nieces and nephews; and his K9 companion Sully. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarksbury Global Methodist Church Cemetery in Harmony. The family would like to thank Jennifer Hawks for the loving care shown to Jack and his family.
