It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jacqueline Sears Hamilton, 86, of Cartner Road, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at her home. Born on November 17, 1938, in Oconee County, SC, to the late Ralph and Irene Martin Sears, she lived a life full of love, grace, and compassion.
Her career spanned several years, beginning with her time at Piece Goods Shop in Winston-Salem, before retiring from Custom Advertising. But her true calling in life was always rooted in the love and care she showed to others. She opened her heart and her home to foster children, always offering a safe haven of comfort and love. Throughout her life, Mrs. Hamilton was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and infectious smile.
As a dedicated Pastor’s wife, she had a deep love for her family, her friends, and her church. She was an active member of Beck’s Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, where her faith and unwavering spirit shone brightly. Her love for family was evident in the time spent on family vacations, in the joy of planting flowers, and in her passion for cheering on Clemson Football. Her heart was always open to those she loved, and she gave freely of herself to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ray Hamilton, and her daughters, Karen Hamilton Crissman and Delores Hamilton Gower. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Cindy Hamilton Stevens; grandchildren, Kristie (Mark) Willett, Kellie (Brandon) Douglas, Sarah Stevens, Mikayla Stevens, Brandy Stevens Irving, and Faith Gower; great-grandchildren, Jadon, Kason, Evan, Nora, GG, Aleister, Ryker, and Bristol; her brothers, Donnie Sears and Odell Sears; brother-in-law, Robert Smith; sister-in-law, Beatrice Hamilton; and her special friends, Edna Martin and Nancy Holder. Jackie will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 3:30-5:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Jonesville. Her funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM, where her life will be celebrated by Dr. Roger Hensley, Dr. Jonathan Casstevens, Carrie Cox, Mark Willett, and Pastor Tracy Hamilton. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials donations may be made to the Ray C. Hamilton Foundation c/o Becks Baptist Church, 5505 Becks Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27106.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her special caretakers Jessica Garza, Lori Sprinkle, and Mountain Valley Hospice for all the loving care given to Mrs. Hamilton.
Mrs. Hamiltons legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be in our hearts, her memory cherished by all whose lives she touched.
