Jerry "Gub" McEwen

Jerry “Gub” McEwen, of Yadkinville, passed away on the 30th of May, 2025. He was born on the 4th of April, 1960 to the late Huston “Bip” and Dorothy McEwen. Some of his many hobbies include going to the river, drinking, and piddling around. He was a farmer for majority of his life, as well as working in a tire shop.

In addition to his parents, Gub is preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette “Tooty” Hutchens; and his brother Jessie “Bud” McEwen. He is Survived by his two sons Justin “J-Bird” (Jessie Arnold) McEwen, and Jimmy “Hoss” (Amy) McEwen; sister Sandra “Sis” Sasser; and grandchildren, Holden, Brianna, Makaila, Grace, Leland, Waylon, and Miles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tammy for taking care of Gub in his last few months. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Staff of Yadkinville is serving the McEwen family.
