Jimmy Howard Davis

Jimmy Howard Davis, 88, of East Bend, passed away early on January 3, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife, Janet Lineberry Davis of the home; daughter Gina Davis Boyles and granddaughter, Mikaela Boyles; son, Jay Davis; a sister, Dorothy Ann Ratledge, all of East Bend; brother-in-law Ed Snow; three nephews: and many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Alco and Beulah Brann Davis; and a sister, Carol Jean Davis Snow.  He was born in East Bend, North Carolina, on June 11, 1934. Mr. Davis was a graduate of East Bend High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany 1957-58. Mr. Davis retired in 1988 from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. 91 Machine Shop after 30 years of service. Mr. Davis was the oldest living male member of Enon Baptist Church.   Visitation will be at 12:30 -2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, at Enon Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM by Rev. Bill Messer.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Enon Baptist Church 6321 E Old US 421 Hwy East Bend, NC 27018. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Davis family.
