Johnny Hutchens

Johnny Carl Hutchens, of Boonville, passed away surrounded by his loving family on the 18th of March, 2026. He was born on April 18th, 1950, to the late Ray and Nancy Hutchens. Johnny loved spending his time outdoors fishing, planting his flowers, and growing his garden. He was also very good at woodworking and painting and would share his talents with friends and family. Johnny loved his family above all else and would spend as much time as he could with his “babies”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Hutchens, Tommy Hutchens, Albert Hutchens, Whitey (Kenneth) Hutchens; brother-in-law, Toehead Smith; sister-in-law, Susan Hutchens; nephew-in-law, Tim Mendenhall; nephew, Gray Hutchens; and great-niece, Shae Hutchens. He is survived by his brother, Donald Hutchens; sister, Ruth Smith; nephews, Ronnie Hutchens, Darrell Hutchens, Tony (Myrna) Smith; nieces, Ann Brown, Hope (Jason) St. John, Sue Ann Mendenhall; great-nephews, Mickey (Chesney) Hutchens, Dakota (Ashley) Hutchens, Kevin (Bailey) Brown, Jordan St. John, Mason (Skylar) St. John; great-nieces, Morgan (Isaac) Brown, Mackenzie (Jordan) Doub, Nichole Hutchens, Jessica (Jamison) Mendenhall, Jennifer (Jacob) Daughtry; great-great-nephews, James, Braxton, Silas, Declan, Dallas, Liam, Ellis; great-great-nieces, Cam, Evelyn, Cheyenne, Lilly, Eleanor Ruth; and many more nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21st, from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville. The funeral will take place the following day on Sunday, March 22nd, at 3:30 P.M in the Gentry Family Chapel. The burial will follow the service at Charity Baptist Church in Boonville. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville will be serving the Hutchens family.
