Johnny Frank Spann

Spann Jonesville – Johnny Frank Spann, 83, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Wilkes Health and Rehab. He was born February 26, 1943 in Surry County, the son of the late Hillary William Spann and Bertha Miller Spann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Flynn Spann, brother, Alton Spann, sisters, Wanda Church, Barbara Woodruff, Mary Anderson, Hilda Baugess and Myrtle Douglas. Surviving are his children, Frankie Lee Spann, Theresa (Shane Brock) Spann Hutchens, Steven Ray Spann and wife Donna; grandchildren, Kelly (Daniel) Calhoun, Heather (B.J. Shores) Parnell, Samantha Spann, Tiffany (Nathan) Boyd; great grandchildren, Wesley Parnell, Jax Messer, Layne Boyd, Leland Boyd, Sully Boyd, Avery Shores, and Addison Shores. His funeral service will be held 2:00 pm. Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Gentry Chapel in Jonesville by the Rev. Gordon Macemore. Burial will follow at Mitchell's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in honor of his great-granddaughter Sully Boyd at any State Employees Credit Union. Please request funds be deposited into the “Fat Cat” account in Sully’s name.
