Hancock
YADKINVILLE - Judy Carolyn Hancock, 84, of Greenbriar Road passed away peacefully at her home on October 24, 2026. On August 13, 1942 a baby girl was born to Minerva Hancock and R. Roy Williams.
She is survived by her son Ketih Edwin Whitaker, of the home and the best caretaker in the world. She is also survived by a daughter Gina Carolyn Edds and son-in-law, Todd Edds of Florida. Her pride and joy comes next with two wonderful grandchildren, Austin James Edds and Ashlyn N. Edds all of Florida. Mrs. Hancock is also survived by her 90 year old sister, Joyce Jean Hancock Parker of Boonville and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her wonderful Step-Father, Richard H. Creed; and 2 sisters, June H. Nance of Tobaccoville and Ruby Gray Hardy of Yadkinville.
Mrs. Hancock spent most of her life as a nurse and loved it. Because of a bad back she was appointed Human Resource and Nursing Administrator. Under her watch, employees had 4 years with no time lost.
Judy loved life and was always finding the happiness in any situation. Her favorite song was “My Way” by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. She always said this song described her life. So anytime you listen to this song, pay attention to the words, and think of Judy Hancocks life.
A Graveside service will be 1 PM Wednesday at East Bend Friends Cemetery by Rev. Kenny Gooden.
